Papers presented under this subtheme should deal with issues such as: Why is there a mismatch between tertiary education and training and the labour market? What approaches can be taken to ensure that tertiary education and training meets the needs of the labour market? What is the role of a Labour Market Information System (LMIS)? How can it meet the needs of its various users? Is there a role for External Quality Assurance Agencies (EQAA)? The papers should analyze the competencies required for a changing globalised labour market and the impact of an effective LMIS. Consideration should also be given to policies and strategies for transforming tertiary education and training to meet the needs of the labour market.
